South American Explorers: The South American Explorers is a non-profit organization supported almost entirely through the contributions of its members. The organization seeks to aid educational and scientific projects, to sponsor expeditions, to promote worthy community service organizations and activities, and to awaken greater interest in and appreciation of Latin America.
Bruce Peru: NGO based in Trujillo, always looking for volunteers for 3 - 5 weeks or longer. Projects include teaching street kids who are not attending school in a bid to bring them up to a suitable standard so that they can be re-integrated back into normal schools again. Other projects include centres to help abandoned mothers and pregnant adolescents. Volunteer positions available in Trujillo, Cajamarca, Huaraz and Cusco.
